Welcome back to a big day of footy & netball at City Oval…… especially for our 1’s & A’s. Refreshed after the bye and inspired by some Olympics heroics, it’s time to put a stake in the ground. A time to defy what we may see as fate and heighten the desire to challenge it,
Our A’s are 6th with a huge matchup today. Two wins to round out the h&a’s could see us playing finals. Our B’s have another opportunity to improve and with a;; their resilience, win. Our C’s are in a finals shaper and can still have a say in how the 5 settles. The 17’s sit 3rd in a tough game today and it could come down to the final round to determine their ladder position. The 15’s are sitting on top and need to win 2 to get straight through to the 2nd semi. Our 13’s are 6th and having a an improving, growth year and that improvement will be on show today.
Our 1’s are still a possibility for finals action and need to win 2 to remain any chance. That stake need to go in deep early in the contest today. Our twos are 3rd with a tough encounter today. They’ll be featuring in the finals and it will come down to the final round to determine which day they’ll start. Out 3rds are 6th after a challenging year. They’ve played some good footy and shown their best is good enough. They’ll need to take that outon the park today. Our 4ths seem finals bound. They’ll take the favourite tag into their final two games but will need to win both to ensure their top 5 position.
Our Youth Girls’ season ended last Sunday in a hard fought 10 pt loss in the Div 1 Prelim. Well done to the Girls & Coach Gudgy on a great season. They’re a developing group with a few players coming onboard this year for their first season. It’s onward and upward in 2025.

Whilst on the coaching front, great news for our under-age footyers with Kane Ashwood & Bryan Froud being appointed to lead our 18’s & 16’s in 2025. Great news for the club & current & prospective players.
Milestones – Congratulations to Brayden McCarrey who runs out for his 150th game with the Redlegs today along with Oscar Baylis who plays game number 50. This weekend we’re also celebrating 250 Club games for Jason ‘Whippett’ Waddell who kicked off his Redlegs career with a Premiership in year 1. He continues to play with the competitive spirit he always has. Well done.
