Rnd 2 2022 Footy Record Notes

It was a bit wet in East Gippsland last week with minor flooding, land slips, road closures and power outages. We wish all in our community well in their recovery and clean up from these events

A little bit of nostalgia last week with the return of the old scoreboard on the outer wing. It may be another week or two before our electronic board is back up and running. A massive thank you to all our footy scoreboard attendants last week, especially those later in the day who stuck it out in the rain to keep us all up to date with the scores which were close all afternoon.

Saturday arvo wasn’t a great time to be on the gate either so huge thanks to our gate attendants as well. Harvey Norman raffle winners were Paul Preston & Jacqui Banson

Some great wins last week with our U13, U16’s, U18’s and Reserves all saluting and some narrow losses in other games. Possibly the greatest joy of the day came with a breakthrough win by our B Graders. Whoohoo!

Regardless of the rain last week it was great to be back and getting together at community sport.

Winners of the revised ’21 Back2Front draw last week were Paul Hadden - Riviera Concrete ($2000-) Jon Carter - Carter Marine (Saltwater Properties night accommodation in Darwin valued at $1700-) Tristan Podubinski - The Sign Shop ($1000-)

Our first Presodent’s Club $500- draw winner was GJ Gardiner Homes.

Shout out to Jeff McKeon at Slipstream Productions for creating a sensation promo video for our season launch. Thanks for helping create a great atmosphere on the night and heighten the excitement for round 1 and the season ahead.

The ALFW Grand Final is today and former Redleg Megan Fitzsimon and her Demons are taking on the Crows. Congratulation to Megan on a great season and all good wishes for a great game today.

If you’re interested in partnering with the Redlegs, please get in touch with Les Knight on 0409516624

Mark these dates in your Calendar. Always fun to be had with the Redlegs.

23 April Rnd 3 v Sale – Get together at The Grand Terminus

7 May Rnd 5 v Moe – Silent Disco

Today it’s the Eagles. A fresh challenge and all teams start at nil each. Moment by moment, contest by contest. Being good enough for long enough is the challenge of the day. Confidence, belief, hard work & persistence are key for a win for our A’s & 1’s today. With those attributes, anything is possible.

Challenge Yourself. Good luck to all players and teams.

Go Redlegs.
