A great win in A Grade netball last week has us sitting just outside the 5 by percentage. The next 5 rounds has us playing 4 teams currently in the top 5, starting with Drouin today. Although the heat will be on today we have the goods to turn the tables on our meeting early this season.
Our senior footy season is on the line today and with some close results against Drouin in recent years, its likely to go down to the wire today. If we want to play finals footy today there is no acceptable result other than a W.
Just like the 1’s, our 3rds & C’s seasons are also on the line today and with a tough block of games ahead a win is a must for our 13’s. These games will be close encounters and each team will need your support on the sidelines. Keep an eye on times and schedules and do what you can to spend some time cheering each on. Our 15’s go in favourites however an opposition win could edge them into the 5 and they will come hard. We’ve got the goods the hold them out. Our 17’s also deserve the favourite tag in their top 5 clash today and will need to be on right from the start. After falling an agonizing 2 goals from their first win last week our B’s need to climb a mountain today however with their persistence & positivity, an upset is on the cards. Our 4th’s face a danger game and need to win to keep a buffer in 5th whilst our 2’s were back on the winners list last week and should get the chocolates today.
Our Youth Girls played a night game last night before their school holiday bye. The result is not known at the time of printing however recent results had the Redlegs favourites and we’re sure they would have rallied for the win. Our Juniors have the bye.
Thanks to all who attended our Ladies Day gathering last week and our special guest, Olympian Aislin Jones. To join team Aislin and support her quest for gold at the Paris Olympics head to https://asf.org.au/projects/aislin-jones/paris-selection-series--training--travel
Thanks also to the dedicated team of organisers for another awesome event. People are already asking about next year.
Great to see a bit of demolition work early last Sunday morning and the slab poured for the new opposition interchange bench/coaches’ box. Thanks to Stewy & his crew of Macca, Pup, Frewy, Jonesy, Heathy and also Frithy (Friths Plumbing & Civil) for the use of equipment and Haddo (Riviera Concrete) for the Sunday pour. Great job you men.
