Rnd3 Gippy League Record

It’s been a pretty incredible way to kick off the season, right? The highlights are coming thick and fast. No doubt, another history making day today at Moe – it’s in our hands.

Thanks to all of you who supported our first home game and congratulations to Sale on claiming the Dahlsens Cup. It was a massive occasion. It was sensational to see our 81’ Legends and 2001 Heros back at the Club. If you missed getting your copy of the new book A September To Remember, duck into Just Books or email author David Johnson on davidandliz5@bigpond.com.au

After selling an extraordinary number of raffle tickets in 2019, Ian Chester was pleased to see the electronic scoreboard in action at the netball. Even though it wasn’t always in our favour, it’s a great addition to the courts and the spectator experience.

On the subject of scoreboards, Jeff McKeon has been busy behind the scenes. The highlights package of 2001 GF and the final 10 minutes of the ’81 GF were a great addition to the big screen on reunion day. Jeff has also put together a promo video for our Youth Girls footy program and has a couple of other projects on the go highlighting the achievements of a couple of Redlegs stars. Keep an eye out. In the mean time, if you have some tape you’d like converted to USB, search Slipstream Productions on facebook.

Our Youth Girls’ numbers are growing steadily and with the season fast approaching, now is the best time to get involved and head to training. Wednesday nights from 5pm. Thanks to the parents and senior players who have been helping Gary with training. Parents & volunteers are a big part of junior sport so your help throughout the year in various administration, first aid and management roles is really appreciated. Previous coaches, players and parents have ensured we have established a good record and reputation in the Youth Girls League and your support will further enhance this status and our ability to continue to provide an exciting, safe space for female sport.

Sos has got the Junior footy on the go for 2021 and the kids are loving it. Big Thanks to our coaches Scott Dullard (U11) Matt Tanner (U13) & Brad Cloak (U15). Congratulations also to those playing in the 13’s, 14’s & 15’s All Stars Academy games.

Auskick is a great development program for footy as is Net-Set-Go for the netballers. Both these programs are up and about for 5-9 year olds for 2021. Each Thursday of term 2, 4:15 at Bairnsdale Oval. If you know of someone who may be keen, please give them the heads up.

Bingo Is Back! Every Thursday & Saturday night. Rolling Jackpots are also back from May 6th. Thanks very much to our tireless volunteers and also to our players for their support.

Mark these dates in your Calendar. Always fun to be had with the Redlegs.

Today we face the Lions who have gotten away to a flyer. Redlegs, we’re up for the Challenge. Belonging. Integrity. Commitment. Resilience. Pride. If you’re fair dinkum about creating success and being successful, days like this are made for you. Good luck to all players and teams.

Go Redlegs.
