Its National Volunteers Week – Better Together. Big thanks to our gate keepers, goal & boundary umpires, field/court umpires, timekeepers, scorers, court supervisors, first aiders, water carriers, trainers, interchange stewards, team managers, coaches and assistants, committee members, bar tenders, canteen workers, social organisers….the list is endless. Your service is appreciated and your contribution is enormous.
What a big week it’s been at BFNC. It’s amazing how happy a few wins can make everyone feel & feel happy for each other. The Gippsland League is a tough gig, and the oval & court are just one part of that. To travel 21/4 hours to test yourself, to have some fun, to compete with friends and to support your kids is a huge statement. Individual commitment to a group effort – that’s what makes a team work.
TONIGHT after the game we’ll be treated to a warm, hearty Casserole Tea Smorgasbord prepared by our netballers. They’ve been busy in the kitchen preparing amazing, home cooked meals and desserts for all our players, supporters, members and families. Dinner around 6pm $10 per head or $30 a family (4 or more)
Frewy was up & about and got on the blower 20 minutes into the last v Drouin just to remind a certain Gippsland Live presenter of his comments regarding a winless season. Poppy graciously acknowledged his remarks and congratulated the Redlegs on our win.
Shout out to Bernie Eastman – his work with the scrubber on the netball court will be appreciated by all today.
All good wishes to all those on our injury list including Tyran, Cooper, Liv, Dayna, Seth, Jadah & Lachie
It was a tough afternoon for our girls with in-game injuries taking their toll. A two goal win to the Bombers has created a log jam near the top of the ladder. Better players on the day were Gabby Foster, Lydia Gudgin, Nina Tantaro, Madi Grimsey, Amarlie Gallasch & Sarah Newsome with Lucy Carroll kicking 3 goals.
Our Juniors head to Paynesville tomorrow to battle the Gulls. It should be 3 great contests. If you can find an hour to head over and watch the kids would really love to see you there.
Round 6 President’s Club $500- draw winner was Magic Car Wash – Craig White and Bairnsdale Paint Centre – Lindsay Davidson took home the Lucke’s Fresh Food Market hamper.
