How about last weekend hey? WOW! Amongst the covid disaster at play there was even more drama and excitement than anyone thought possible. A powerful win by the 13’s, a come from behind thriller from the 16’s, a commanding performance in the 18’s, an ambulance ride for a couple of netballers and to top it all off…. amongst the grit, tenacity and overwhelm of our senior game was the 4 goal debut of Tom Hudson (after kicking 4 in the 18’s). No helicopters at Parrot Park for Huddo but if he continues, anything is possible.
Well done to our senior group last week. 28 players down was never going to be easy however it turned to a celebration of those who did play. Each who stepped out had a RHG. Well done to our young leaders Keiran, Byzer & Randal who, along with experienced campaigners Denno & Moose led by example all day.
TONIGHT after the game…Grab your headphones, choose a channel & move to your own groove. Our SILENT DISCO is a night not to be missed.
Last week Brayden McCarrey was a no show for his 50th. Presumably he has recovered well and regained his place in the team to celebrate the milestone today.
Our Youth Girls’ reaped the benefits of their commitment to their extended preseason with a first up win over the Woodside Wildcats. Thanks to Rod Walker for taking the coaching reigns for the day due to Gudgy’s unavailability. The girls are heading to home game at Moe next week v Phillip Island.
Our 11/13/15’s travelled to Orbost last week and had 3 great matches with the Blues. There’s some great kids rising through the ranks. Some are already part of GL footy and many others will be.
Thanks to all who assisted with netball injuries last week, especially Simon Young. He’s an absolute legend and a credit to the Club. We appreciate your quick action and support. All good wishes to Liv & Dayna for a quick, full recovery.
Round 4 President’s Club $500- draw winner was DM Pro Turf -Darren Martin whilst Wards Solicitors Andrew Reynolds took home the Lucke’s Fresh Food Market hamper.
